Ernie proud to represent Boeing in 100th anniversary year

21 Apr

The story of Boeing coincides with a century of unprecedented technological evolution that has seen humans go from walking on planet earth to walking on the moon, from riding horses to piloting planes and spaceships. Boeing has been flying high throughout.

It all started when William E. Boeing, one of the pioneers of early aviation, created a single canvas-and-wood airplane and incorporated the Pacific Aero Products Company, which would soon be renamed the Boeing Airplane Company. Over the course of the next 100 years Boeing would remain at the forefront of aerospace technology, literally shaping the course of history with some groundbreaking innovations. Today, it is the world’s largest aerospace company and the leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defence, space and security systems.

Ernie started his association with Boeing in 2012, becoming the first ever professional athlete to sign an endorsement deal with the company, and has since proudly worn the Boeing logo on his golfing apparel, including this year the specially commissioned logo to commemorate Boeing’s 100 years in business (shown in the photo above).

“I remember first meeting with some of the senior executives from Boeing at the 2012 RBC Heritage at Hilton Head, where the company does such a wonderful job as a presenting sponsor, and we hit it off straight away and developed a great rapport,” recalls Ernie. “It was just a couple of months later that our partnership officially began and it’s an honour to continue to represent such an iconic brand. My philosophy is to partner with the best and there’s no doubt that Boeing is the best in its business.”

Ernie goes on to say, “I congratulate Boeing on reaching such a significant landmark; a century of proven success in business is an incredible achievement. And as someone who loves flying, it’s been a thrill for me to tour the Boeing factory and learn more about the company’s incredible history. It’s amazing to think what air travel will be like in 2116…although I have no doubt that Boeing will be at the cutting edge, just as it has been these past 100 years. I must also take this opportunity to add my thanks to the team at Boeing for its support of The Els for Autism Foundation. Guys, we really appreciate everything you’ve done for us these past four years.”
