In this event series, a team’s fundraising ability is valued as much as their performance on the golf course. Teams compete in a combined low-net event for a selection of first class regional prizes and all teams that fundraise $13,000 or more will join Ernie Els and his celebrity friends from the PGA TOUR at the Grand Finale in Palm Beach, which is also home of The Els Center of Excellence.

Each team registers online at www.e4aGolf.com and is encouraged to choose an ‘Honorary Captain’, an individual with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Teams are assigned their own fundraising page and are able to email this out to friends, family and colleagues soliciting donations for their team. Non-golfers and those unable to play in a regional event are invited to participate in the fundraising drive by joining ‘The Gallery Club’ or creating their own ‘Affiliate Event’. Members can compete in teams of one or two to raise funds and awareness for Els for Autism and earn the chance to travel to Palm Beach and participate in the Grand Finale.

Els for Autism is excited and proud to announce that a family of highly-respected global brands are supporting Ernie in his philanthropic efforts through the 2017 Golf Challenge. Sponsors include our Presenting Sponsor, SAP and our Organizing Sponsors, TaylorMade Golf, RBC and Wine Spectator. The Golf Challenge is also supported by an impressive team of contributing sponsors including: Boeing, IRISH LINKS, Maui Jim and The Honda Classic.

Proceeds from the Golf Challenge benefit Els for Autism in the U.S. and Canada. Proceeds from the Canadian events are used to disseminate Els for Autism programs, and are also granted to a variety of autism-focused, non-profit organizations in the territory or province in which they are raised. Proceeds from the U.S. events predominantly fund the build out and programs of The Els Center of Excellence, although a portion of the funds raised on the day of each regional event is left behind in that city to fund Ernie Els #GameON Autism golf clinics for the local autism community.

“We are delighted to celebrate the seventh year of the Golf Challenge with our family of dedicated sponsors, players and donors”, said Liezl Els, Els for Autism Founder and Managing Director. “The Foundation has taken massive strides forward in the last year thanks to the support of some amazing companies and people who have taken this cause to heart; many of whom have connected to us through The Golf Challenge. It has been pretty amazing to witness the vision that Ernie and I had of creating a world-class Center of Excellence continue to take shape. We are so excited to be welcoming our top fundraisers to Palm Beach this fall.”

Since its inaugural 2011 series, the Els for Autism Golf Challenge has grown year on year and has raised a total of over $15.5 million, thanks to over 11,477 rounds of golf and over 37,000 donors pledging funds. The series has also helped raise awareness of ASD, which now affects a staggering 1 in 68 children, and 1 in 42 boys.
