The eagerly awaited winning wines from South Africa’s Top 100 Wine Challenge were announced last week at a ceremony attended by the country’s greatest winemakers, vineyard representatives and owners.
Some 400 of South Africa’s best wines were entered into the competition and it proved to be a successful night for Ernie Els Wines, with several wines from its portfolio receiving awards.
Chief among the award winners was the Big Easy 2010, which received a ‘Best Value’ recommendation and was also included in the Top 100. The Signature 2008 and Proprietors Syrah 2010 also made it into the Top 100.
Meanwhile, on another night of success for Ernie Els Wines the Proprietors Blend 2010 was selected in the Top 6 non-Bordeaux style blends at the prestigious Classic Wine Magazine Awards.
Public tasting festivals of all the winning wines will take place at One&Only on the VA Waterfront in Cape Town on Thursday 10 May and at the Hyatt Regency in Rosebank, Joburg on Thursday 17 May. For more information please visit the website: www.top100sawines.com
