Ernie Els made his major debut as an amateur in the 1989 Open Championship and has played in a total of 101 majors, up to and including the 2018 US Open, placing him 13th on the all-time list (see table below).

Ernie has four major victories (2002 & 2012 Open Championship, 1994 & 1997 US Open) and has finished in the top-10 on 35 occasions, an impressive 35% strike rate.
