Registration is now open for the 10th annual Els for Autism Golf Challenge, one of the largest international charity-driven amateur golf tournaments in history.
The Golf Challenge is an event series held between March and October at some of North America’s finest golf courses. Teams are made up of a maximum of two golfers, one of which will be registered as team captain. Winners and top fundraisers qualify for the Grand Finale at the spectacular Ernie Els-designed Albany Golf Course in the Bahamas on October 25-27. Finalists will enjoy a two-day extravaganza of golf and entertainment hosted by Liezl and Ernie and the Golf Challenge’s family of sponsors. Guests will enjoy a welcome party and awards ceremony, tournament golf and a fabulous gala celebration.
“What an amazing success The Golf Challenge has been,” comments Ernie. “Liezl, myself and the rest of the team are so grateful to everyone who’s jumped on board. And, as always, we give a special mention to organising sponsors SAP and Wine Spectator. This year’s schedule has some wonderful venues [click here for schedule] and iconic courses. We’d love you to join us somewhere along the line.”
Since its inaugural 2011 series, The Golf Challenge has grown every year and has raised over $24 million. The series has also helped raise awareness of ASD, that now affects a staggering 1 in 68 children, and 1 in 42 boys in the U.S.
“As we launch another Golf Challenge, I extend a wholehearted thank you to our family of dedicated sponsors, players and donors”, said Liezl Els, Els for Autism Founder & Managing Director. “Because of your support, we have a beautiful campus (pictured below) to serve individuals with autism spectrum disorder all around the world.”
