As is customary at this time of the year, Ernie and Liezl hosted the top fundraisers, teams and sponsors at a Grand Finale at the Grand Hyatt Hotel at Baha Mar in the Bahamas, where everyone was treated to a two-day extravaganza of golf and entertainment.

This is the 15th year of the Golf Challenge, one of the largest charity-driven, amateur golf tournaments in the world, consisting of a series of regional events at top-rated golf courses across the US and Canada from March to October. The key numbers from this year’s series are again impressive: almost 24,000 rounds played and over $3 million raised to date.

Since its inception in 2011, the Golf Challenge has raised a staggering $43.9 million. Every dollar and cent benefits the Els for Autism Foundation, which is committed to better understanding the aspirations of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and helping them to fulfil their potential to lead positive, productive and rewarding lives.

“I say this every time, but honestly this is one of the highlights of the year for Liezl and me,” says Ernie. “We’re so humbled by the commitment of our fundraisers, sponsors and partners, and their efforts to make a difference in the world of autism. It’s a pleasure for us and the team at Els for Autism to spend time with them and to have some fun together. It’s a wonderful few days and we hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did.”
