It feels strange not playing tournament golf at this time of year, but I have to use the time productively and it’s been fun spending more time with the family and especially the kids, which I normally miss out on.

I’ve been working hard with my trainer on fitness, especially some of the things we want to work on that you cannot do while on the road. I have also been keeping my game going with a bit of social golf and also playing rounds with some of my sponsors. We had a lot of fun with SAP yesterday in Florida and luckily managed to avoid some of those storms.

My next competitive start will be at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland from October 1-4. It is always a great event, playing on three iconic links courses in an exciting format. Hopefully the weather co-operates!

That’s really about it for now, but just before signing off here’s a quick update on this year’s Els for Autism Golf Challenge. We’ve had some incredibly well supported events in recent weeks at wonderful venues such as Chambers Bay, Atlanta Athletic Club, TPC Boston, Hazeltine National and University of Texas Golf Club where my good friend Rich Beem was the host. Thank you to all of the golf clubs for your hospitality and to everyone who took part and raised charity dollars for Els for Autism. Thanks to your efforts we’re well on the way to hitting our $2.5 million target for 2015. And obviously congrats to all the event winners – you know who you are. I’ll see you guys in Vegas in November! If you want to join us in Vegas, there are still some qualifying events remaining on the schedule, including a stop in my hometown of Jupiter at the Trump National Golf Club on October 5th. Of course, non-golfers can also qualify for the Grand Finale in Vegas purely through the fundraising route. Whichever you choose, just click here for more details.

I’ll write again soon. In the meantime you can of course follow me on Twitter @TheBig_Easy.
