GOLF
Men
Free State Open
Kyle de Beer finished second in the Free State Open at Heron Banks on 23 January after rounds of 71 72 69 68 for 280 (-4). Former member, Keegan McLachlan from Silver Lakes, won the tournament on a total of 273 (-7).

Gauteng North Open
Kyle, Christiaan Burke and Casey Jarvis were tied after 72 holes at 269 (-19) in the Gauteng North Open at Waterkloof on 30 January. Casey won the sudden-death playoff on the second hole to secure the title. Kyle had rounds of 72 64 68 65 and Christiaan finished with rounds of 63 71 67 68.

SA Amateur Final
Kyle de Beer is the 2022 SA Amateur Champion after he beat the Scot Rory Franssen 4&2 in the final at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington GC on 11 February. Kyle never trailed in the 36-hole final and indeed at one stage was 6-up after 13 holes.

SA Stroke Play
Christiaan Burke, Altin van der Merwe, Kyle de Beer and Letsoso Letsai made the cut in this prestigious tournament at Randpark GC on 24 February. Christiaan finished T4 on a score of 22-under par, with Altin one shot back on 21-under par in 6th position. Kyle finished 7th on a score of 17-under par. Letsoso finished in T45 on a score of 2-over par.

Women
Border & Eastern Province Championship
Demi Flanagan made good use of her home course advantage to win the Border & Eastern Province Championship by 3 shots at the East London GC on 3 January. Demi, who led the tournament from the start, played rounds of 73 72 79 for 224 (+5). Megan Streicher from Swellendam came second (227, +8).

SA Stroke Play
Crystal Beukes and Cara Ford finished T9 in the SA Stroke Play tournament at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington GC on 7 February. They both finish on a total of 223 (+9) after 3 rounds.

SA Amateur
Crystal Beukes and Demi Flanagan also did well in the SA Amateur Championship at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington GC on 8 February. Crystal lost 3&2 to Kyra van Kan in the semi-final, while Demi lost 2&1 to Kiera Floyd in the quarter finals.
