Whiskey Creek Golf Club is located in Ijamsville, Maryland, 45 minutes from Baltimore. The design collaboration between Ernie Els and architect J. Michael Poellet was initiated from an approach soon after Ernie won his second US Open in 1997 and represented Ernie’s introduction into golf course design.
The golf course is an 18-hole layout featuring dramatic elevation changes, outstanding views, rock outcroppings and attractive yet strategic water features. Whiskey Creek is a highly enjoyable round of golf with challenging par-3s and par-4s and reachable, risk-reward par-5s to close each nine. The 18th is described as “possibly the finest finishing hole in the mid-Atlantic” by sportswriter Michael Wilbon.
